This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you shop on the Shoptey marketplace or any store hosted on Shoptey, and who it's shared with. It covers store.shoptey.com — if you're a merchant, see the separate Privacy Policy on app.shoptey.com.
1. Information collected
Your email address, collected by Stripe on its own hosted checkout page at the time of payment — we receive it from Stripe once your order completes, we never collect it ourselves.
Your order details: what you bought, quantities, and price, kept so the order can be fulfilled and referenced later.
We never see or store your card number, card details, or billing address — that information stays with Stripe.
2. Your cart
Items you add to your cart before checkout are stored only in your own browser's local storage, per store. Nothing is sent to our servers until you actually check out.
3. How we use it
To process your order, send you an order confirmation email, and share the order details necessary for the merchant you bought from to fulfill it.
4. Who we share it with
Stripe, to process your payment. Sendgrid, to deliver your order confirmation email. The merchant you purchased from, who needs your order and contact details to fulfill it. 5. Cookies
We use one cookie (shoptey_locale) to remember your language preference on stores that offer a language switcher. This doesn't require consent — it's strictly necessary for that feature to work.
We'd also like to use Google Analytics to understand how visitors shop the marketplace and stores here. This only runs if you accept it in the cookie banner — it's off by default, and declining or ignoring the banner means it never loads. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
6. Data retention
We keep order records for as long as needed for financial record-keeping and to resolve any disputes or support requests related to your order.
7. Your rights

Shoptey stores are not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
